The title is taken from the work that inspired this picture: Amor omnia vinct Michelangelo Merisi called Caravaggio . Tradition has it that he did as a model his beloved boy who in turn become a painter, Francesco Boner said Ben, with whom, they say, the teacher also had a relationship. The children were welcomed in the workshops with an apprenticeship contract around the age of thirteen, and although it has not had a formal contract of training, I think Boner has become a student of Caravaggio around that age.

was not the first time that Michelangelo was in sight of the Marquis Giustiniani and certainly not if it was sorry. There were accounts payable to the tavern and the food, so a committee was very well received.
But it was the first time that it was accompanied by Ben, his apprentice. He had made some hasty recommendation as one of the servants made their way, but the boy was distracted, like a child who was still, by the splendor of the furnishings in the rooms that were going through. On the second call that the boy did not answer, the painter lost his patience and handed him a dry slap on the back of his head that made him whimper.
"The 'just a word, and tonight you sleep with dogs in the yard." Threatened him roughly at the first hint of complaint, but when it is entwined in Cecco's side against his eyes and looked at him full of sadness sorrow, Michelangelo smiled and stroked his beautiful full lips.
"Your bed is warmer, master." Cecco
whispered with a certain amount of malice, when he was sure that the painter was not really angry with him. Michael snorted, raising his hand again to threaten him and the boy instinctively defended himself, but the slap was promised a pat on the rough dark curls of the child able to snatch a grateful smile. In the meantime, had arrived before the study and had to be separated to be announced to the landlord.

Francis was at his side exactly the time of formal greetings and then, after obtaining permission amused that the Marquis and veiled threats of his teacher, had approached cautiously and curious to pour a lute left on a table. Michelangelo lingered a moment to contemplate too sleek boy's fingers caressing the strings and the Marquis took it back good-naturedly.
"Master, your boy robs me of your attention. It is very that you have a shop? "Michelangelo
apologized with a nod and then refused resolutely, but without losing sight of the boy.
"You must forgive me, my lord. Me have given a few months ago and is still as wild as all children. "
The smile became a bit of the noble 'less good-natured when he replied.
"Come, master, this is the best age for a young man home. When you are educated with the right rewards are as sweet as ambrosia and docile to every desire. "
gaze of the painter took offense at the malice in the clear words of someone used to getting what he wanted from whoever he wanted, but the ' only reaction that is allowed, given the excessive need of that committee, was a frowning face and a replica of the dry.
"It's a wild beast to tame a flogging, I do not see anything docile."
gaze lingered on the noble lines sour legs of the boy highlighted by tight panty and camisole already become too short and Michelangelo was on the verge of Cecco carried away after he attacked his client more generous. Fortunately, the child turned to smile at him with flushed cheeks from the wonder of his new discoveries and a strange calm calm the roar of blood in the veins of the painter.
"If it is such a bother, leave it in this house. Find ways to take care of them. "Teased the Marquis, with a note of amusement in his voice.
Even dead, he's my boyfriend, was about to respond aggressively, but then he remembered the gambling debts and still get dinner and the answer came out much more subdued.
"There'd be truly grateful, sir, but then left without help in the shop."
"Really? You are very generous with those who have often been with you. "
Michelangelo felt the threat was made happy and a little more docile.
"I have been unforgivable. I did not want to offend your ladyship. Tell me what you want. "
" If you do not want to leave, give us a picture to remind us. What is a cupid , as beautiful as your boy, with the same full cheeks and dimpled chin ... and that winner, as seems to have him on your art. "
Michelangelo recognized for having demonstrated a clear mockery a bit 'too attached to an apprentice and bowed his head as a sign of repentance, but he had already clear how best to please his patron and, together, to celebrate her boyfriend properly.
